On January 18, 2021, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic supported three victims of torture, leaving in force the decision of the district court, according to which each of them will be paid 100,000 (one hundred thousand) som!


The court did not satisfy the complaint of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic on reducing the amount of compensation for each victim of torture to 50,000 (fifty thousand) som, leaving in force the decision of the previous instance and collected in favor of the victims compensation for moral damage in the amount of 300,000 (three hundred thousand) som.


Recall that from December 3 to December 5, 2013, the officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Kyzyl-Kiya, in order to obtain confessions in the commission of murder, used physical force with the use of stun guns against minors (at the time of the torture). Victims of torture have been fighting for their rights for 7 years.
