A round table on the topic “Discussion of the results of monitoring the technical condition of pre-trial detention facilities of the penal system of the Kyrgyz Republic".
On December 13, Bishkek hosted an online and offline round table dedicated to discussing the results of monitoring the technical condition of pre-trial detention facilities of the penal system of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was attended by government agencies - representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Penitentiary Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ombudsman Institute of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Center for the Prevention of Torture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as representatives of international and non-governmental organizations.
The moderator of the round table was the Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Coalition against Torture in Kyrgyzstan - Ulugbek Azimov, then Gulshayyr Abdirasulova, Executive Director of the "Kylym Shamy" Public Foundation, Albert Kolopov, Deputy Akyykatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Rysbekov Bakyt, Director of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture, made a welcoming speech.
Aziza Abdirasulova, founder of the Kylym Shamy Foundation, and Nogoev Akynbek, lawyer of the Kylym Shamy Foundation, made a presentation of the results of monitoring the technical condition and maintenance of the detention center of the SIN KR.
The participants were presented with a report on the pre-trial detention center 2021 with the main conclusions and recommendations.
Following the results of the round table, recommendations were developed for government agencies and tasks for their implementation were identified.
